YUKETEN ANGLER BOOT IN  Brown Chromexcel with Cortina Outsole.  The Angler Boot draws its name from the style of shoe worn by Maine's freshwater fisherman of the 1950s and 60s. These anglers sought a secure fit in the footwear they brought to their sport and the moccasins they wore were distinct for the placement of the eyestay, which hugged the top of the foot. Yuketen's Angler Boot brings improved vamp construction and arch support, and rugged all-weather Cortina soles to this classic New England sporting shoe.

Each shoe is hand stitched in Maine, U.S.A., from a combination of Horween Glace Chromexcel and full-grain ‘flesh-out’ leather. Chromexcel is a buttery, malleable 'pull-up' leather born of a unique double-tanning process of vegetable and chrome treatments, which imbues the leather with pleasantly aromatic liquor notes. Its suppleness, revealing of lighter tones in its oiled surface when stretched, makes it particularly suitable for moccasin construction. Although flesh-out leather resembles suede in appearance, this 'flesh-out' leather is NOT suede, because we retain the grain side of the leather, providing a thickness, strength, and longevity not found with the latter material. The upper is hand-punched and handsewn with awl, needle, and thread on Yuketen's proprietary last from multiple pieces of leather in order to ensure reinforcement and is cinched at the base to create an integumentary fit.

The replaceable Italian-made Cortina sole is a soft-compound lug sole, which was made to commemorate the winter Olympic Games of 1956, which were held in the Cortina district of Italy. This lug sole was created to offer the best balance of grip and durability to maintain consistent performance in extreme weather. Yuketen's distinctive midsole component, constructed from composition rubber and 100% vegetable-tanned leather which has been air-dried in a 90-day process, is Goodyear-stitched together before being directly stitched to the vamp leather. Steel shank reinforcements increase fitting in the arch and heel, forming a stable bridge between the heel and ball of the owner's foot which causes weight to be distributed more evenly across the foot. This results in reduced foot fatigue and improved comfort. Yuketen's signature tucks and full leather insoles are also made from 100% vegetable-tanned leather and will naturally accommodate the distinct shape of the wearer’s foot over time.
