Designer Gene Michael Oe was born in Tokyo to a Japanese father and an English mother. He spent the latter years of his youth studying in Brazil, and football offered a sense of community that has become foundational to his design ethos. His unique experience is imparted through a wide range of colors, inspirations, fabrics and techniques. Sports are a consequential mode of communication and connection – Oe’s Cognomen underlines that to great effect.
